Dear Shahd,

Thanks again for your time and attention on the phone. Have now made preliminary enquiries regarding costs, below please find my draft proposal:
As discussed, it will be my honour and privilege to exhibit Faces of Cairo in Wellington and this would be a great opportunity to promote tolerance.
My plan is to show around 58 A2-A1 size prints (60X90cm – 70x103cm). Here is a link to my recent exhibition From here to Africa which demonstrates the display format.
As part of the exhibition, I hope to hold an Artist Talk where the public can have an open Q&A session about the work. This will usually take place on a weeked, about a week after the Opening and will attract people who could not attend the opening event.
Online promotional campaigns are estimated at $400-500 depending on social media campaign duration.Happy to work with UAE PR company to reduce these costs.
Promotional paper material will include the Exhibition Programme as well as 1,000-2,000 double sided, DLE size paper invitations + labels with UAE logo will be displayed under each print and on the DLE invites – estimated: $400-500 (attached please find a quote from Super Print).
A full page advert in Art New Zealand magazine $1,100
Exhibiting at the NZ Academy of Fine Arts gallery from January 30 until February 21, 2021. A three-week exhibition duration is a reasonable time to allow more people to visit and to justify the marketing efforts.
Printing cost, framing and mounting $0. I plan to exhibit this series in Auckland during September so there will be no additional cost on this item.
Accommodation (Quest Wellington or similar): $190-200/night x 4-5 nights: $900-1000
Flights Auckland-Wellington x3 for setup and the Opening event + Artist Talk + de-installation: $600-700 including freight
Building two cardboard crates to transport the artwork safely (Pack & Send): $500-600
Contingency (damaged prints and miscellaneous expenses): $800
Current total cost estimate (excluding gallery hire): $5,200.
