Best Photojournalism Print award

Very honoured to win the Best Photojournalism Print: a gold medal and the Shirley Peverill Memorial Trophy for my image: ‘The Scholar’. The Trophy was awarded by The Photographic Society of New Zealand [PSNZ] at national conference in Blenhaim. The Nelson Camera Club is organising the PSNZ National Exhibition [Natex] this year in association with the Marlborough Camera Club which is hosting the 62nd National Convention.

Founded in 1953, PSNZ is the national body for camera clubs and their members throughout New Zealand. With over 3,000 members and more than 60 affiliated photography clubs throughout New Zealand, the aims of the Society are the advancement of photography as a craft and art form, while promoting friendship, cooperation and the exchange of ideas among members. Club members have a wide array of photography skills and knowledge, ranging from the ‘keen to learn’ novice through to the full time professional. Activities include national and regional conventions, photographic competitions and exhibitions, field trips, educational workshops, publications and importantly, the wonderful opportunities to achieve highly respected photographic distinctions.

PSNZ is the exclusive New Zealand affiliate to the worldwide prestigious photographic organisation, La Fédération Internationale de l’Art Photographique (FIAP) so members are given access to their distinctions, salons and events. The annual national convention features world class photographers who inspire and educate through their presentations and workshops, to experience the latest trends, techniques and development of the photographic art.
